Ah yes, the ultimate pair of money savers
Martin Lewis’ MSE has shared a three-day warning to Tesco Clubcard holders.
Ah yes, two heroes of our nation; the Money Saving Expert (MSE) and our trusty Clubcards.
Because let’s be honest, if you’re shopping without one in Tesco, what’s actually the point in shopping there? Even for the cheaper meal deals alone it’s a no-brainer to have one.
But it turns out not everyone is making quite as much money-saving use out of their Clubcard as they could. Not only do the magical things often get you a discount on your shopping but they also rack up points which can be turned into vouchers.
You can then use these all sorts of places, from Thorpe Park and Cineworld to Hungry Horse pubs and Pizza Express.

However, Lewis’ MSE has warned shoppers that £14 million-worth of Tesco Clubcard vouchers are set to expire this Saturday (31 August).
The vouchers are only valid for two years from the date they were issued which you’ll have converted your points into yourself.
On the app or on the ‘My Clubcard account’ tab on the site, once you’ve hit a minimum of 150 points, you can claim a voucher.
You can then spend them in a Tesco to knock some more money of your shopping, with 150 points totalling to £1.50.
Or, you can be a little thriftier and double the value by spending them at a ‘Reward Partner’. As well as the locations mentioned earlier, you could use them towards watching films with a Disney+ membership, grabbing some scran at Prezzo or even to go towards the likes of RAC Breakdown Cover.
But if you’ve checked your expiry date and it’s approaching, Lewis’ team has suggested a possibility to extend the vouchers by another two years.

The MSE lot do warn that technically ‘Tesco can refuse a Reward Partner order if it decides you’re trying to game the system by redeeming vouchers just to extend their validity’. However, when they tested the trick out ‘it worked just fine’.
So, make sure you do it before 11:59pm on Saturday and then make a small purchase on Tesco Clubcard Rewards or donate to one of its partner charities. They recommend doing something like grabbing a 50p restaurant voucher.
Then, the remaining balance is credited back to your account as point – e.g., if you spend 50p using a £5 voucher, you’ll be given 450 points back.
You’ve then got the choice to swap them back into vouchers yourself or wait for them to be converted with your Clubcard statement. Either way, the new vouchers won’t expire for another two years.
Well, get on it lads, you don’t want to lose out on spending those points.
